As of October 16, 2018 Energy Efficiency Alberta is offering financial rebates to eligible homeowners for energy efficient renovations.
Just follow these steps:
Step 1: Book an appointment with one of our advisors to have them come out and do an EnerGide evaluation on your residence. This must be done before any demolition or renovation upgrades.
Step 2: Our advisor will come to your residence and do a comprehensive evaluation of the following:
- the building envelope (walls and doors)
- the windows you currently have in your home
- the heating and air conditioning systems
- the hot water systems used
They will also do a depressurization blower door test and check for air leakage.
Step 3: The energy advisor will model your home using NrCan Hot2000 software to gauge how your home is performing now and make recomendations on how it can perform better. The advisor will create a custom certified ERS report, a recommended upgrade report with potential energy savings and an EnerGuide label for your home. The report will be available on a secure portal 2-3 weeks after your Evaluation. It will detail energy efficiency upgrades and applicable rebates. This help plan and track your renovations.
Step 4: Complete the recommended energy efficiency renovations. Information for the upgrades thast are available can be viewed at the Energy Efficiency Alberta website.
Step 5: Receive the rebates. With the Home Energy Plan, you receive rebates on both common renovations, as well as custom renovations *(Eligibility requirements apply. Please refer to the guide posted on the Energy Efficiency Alberta website for list of eligible upgrades
